Lascaux Caves
The Lascaux Cave was discovered by chance in 1940 by four teenagers. This discovery offered us a unique and shared adventure: the story of humankind. A true masterpiece of prehistory, the site must be protected. Thus, today, the Lascaux Cave can be explored through two replicas in the Dordogne region: • Lascaux II, a partial replica of the Lascaux Cave created in 1983 and located a few meters from the original cave. 80% of the paintings are reproduced. • Lascaux IV, a complete replica of the Lascaux Cave. This International Center for Cave Art, created in 2016, enhances the visitor experience.
